Yes! We welcome community instructors. Visit our Teach page to learn about requirements and submit a class proposal. No teaching license required—just expertise and enthusiasm!
Our class sizes are small and sometimes not all Members can get into a class. If you register for a class and find that you will not be able to attend, please cancel your reserved spot on the website Events page.
Equipment
The short answer is Yes. However, some of the machines require that a member be Certified before they use that machine. For example, the saws in the wood shop require that a user undergo a short safety orientation before being certified. The Bambu 3D Printers and the Boss Laser require that a member view an online training video before they can become certified. This is primarily to make sure the Member knows how to load filament and properly use the equipment.
Most equipment requires a certification class before use. Basic hand tools and the electronics bench are available without certification. Check each equipment listing for requirements.
At this time we do not charge for consumable materials – but we may start charging for filament. We require that any outside filament be cleared by Staff.
Certification can be assigned by an Admin Member, Staff Member or an approved Volunteer.
Accidents happen! Report any issues immediately to staff or through our issue tracking system. You won't be charged for normal wear and tear, but willful damage or negligence may result in repair costs.
Login to the CMS Website and complete an Issue form describing the issue. The Issue Ticket will be assigned for response and you will be kept advised of the progress.
Stuff happens -- don't be concerned, but report the event using the Issue Reporting function on the website. With this information we get the damage repaired promptly.
We will provide saw blades as needed. We do have a supply of sanding supplies, but due to the variety of sanding processes you may need to provide your own if we do not have it in stock.
